How to take Ayahuasca
So the main thing to learn is that you need to be clean. More people take it and they forget about the consequences. If you can – try to change your diet two or three weeks before you come.
That means – no meat, no milk products, no sugar, salt or spice. No fermented foods, no additives or preservatives in your food, no beer wine or spirits, no coffee or tea if you can (in the last week leading up at least), no legumes, if you can go off wheat as most of us are allergic to it and can’t process it entirely.
If you want you can do a mini cleanse. If you like you can take one week off food and do a liquid diet or just a couple of days off food to just give your bowels a cleanse. You can take a probiotic before or after the experience and it will only help you integrate but don’t over do it. It’s good to have clean beautiful bowels before the session so you don’t spend half the night just noticing that you have something going on in there. It’s good to do a light tonic first maybe if you can like Senna or just a cleansing tea – even a light parasite or antibacterial detox before you come – as you will be all the cleaner and all the wiser for it.
It’s good not to stress out and not watch too much media or talk to people you don’t feel good around for about 2 weeks before. It’s great to take your attention from any people places or situations that are constantly on your mind – if you can make that happen for you. Spend time in nature. Set your intention, open your mind to the universe, see things you want to see and hear what you want to hear. If you like you can also close your mind and go into deep trance or meditation – that also works for some.

How to prepare your aura before Ayahuasca
So that is the big thing. Some people don’t know this exists. So when we go into a certain trance like state with certain plants, we forget that yeah – we have things going on in our aura that we didn’t even know. Fights or complaints, lazy days, bad feelings or just nervousness. It is good to relax.
If you like we can organise you a massage, temazcal or a nice healing reiki session before the event so you basically get your auric field back and that you don’t let people shove you around which happens by accident in many ayahuasca journeys – we get very sensitive in these groups so if you are new to this – don’t complain about other people as many do or your perception of them – try to just build up your auric field.

How to let go before the ceremonie(s)
So to me that is the wisest thing here to do. Sometimes we don’t want to let go thinking the plant will just give it all to us and we’ll see our burdens lifted and lives changed. But here it is – the best thing is to just go through the process as much as you can go through it alone before you go if you do decide to drink Ayahuasca with us here.
The first thing is to just feel it, what you are going through
Then to see the blocks. What restricts you frightens or worries, even disappoints.
Remove them yourself.
Most of this is just doable at home it is just that not a lot of people do this. Most of ayahuasca is this principle. Working with pain fear or nervousness. Don’t be afraid if they are old or even outdated stories – it’s all gonna come up for some people in the experience.
Don’t wait for miracles though they do happen sometimes – it’s more just the concept of finding, cleaning and unblocking. Which is what this plant really does. It helps with parasites, candida infection, AIDS virus, diseases of the throat and lungs, heart chakra blocks and confusion, bad emotions, bad choices – all of it. Anything it can probably at least point you towards but you have to be patient.
Go through everything it says – let her talk to you – let the visions colours or smells come or allow her to guide you in whatever way peacefully without trying to block off your feelings as it is useless to do so. The best is to surrender to the experience.

What if I have a bad trip
So – that happens sometimes. The best is not to tell anyone and go through it but yes if it gets unbearable or even frightening it is good to pull up a person that is guiding the space or even the shaman and tell him you are afraid or you are feeling bad. The person should help you feel more at ease or help you just by feeling compassionate towards you.
Yes there are plants that can “ease the dream” and there are tactics that shamans can use to help you not feel so much, and alleviate any pain shame or worry.
If you want you can ask others in the group later to explain what you were feeling or have their take on things. But be aware that there is something strange sometimes going on in the group and it is good to have no personal or private interaction but – in some cultures they believe that a personal look at things can help you.

How to prepare for the “road”
So say – you have discovered yourself enough and you suddenly feel – I want to change. Really – my heart is screaming for it or the time has come. I’m so ready. Here is where you don’t get ready you just – help yourself to a cup of chamomile tea and try to relax, count your blessing and just hope for things to be better. For most people fire and obsession with results is not the best part of the plan …but what is – is just a knowing.
You see the article or you see the words on the page and you just know. I have conceived this retreat in Gemini after all. You just see it – and you know it. That is the best way. Something silent just switches. That is the better way to do it. Don’t hope for the best. Just know.
If you want you can help yourself to probably millions of articles out there as to how to hold a certain dieta and how to help yourself through plants.
